MIRA is proud to once again support the Annual Back 2 School Supply Drive for our local BACK 2 SCHOOL ALLIANCE!
The BACK 2 SCHOOL ALLIANCE (BTSA) is a group of volunteers and community partners dedicated to supporting students in need. Since 1999, they have worked hand-in-hand with District 87 and Unit 5 to bring kids and community together by putting backpacks and school supplies into the hands of children who need them most.
Did You Know?
- One in three students in Bloomington-Normal public schools comes from a financially strapped family.
- There are more than 5,500 students in grades K-8 and 1,700 in grades 9-12 who qualify for free and reduced lunch in Bloomington-Normal.
School supply and monetary donations are being collected from now until July 26th. Donations can be made online or by check to Illinois Prairie Community Foundation (with BTSA on the memo line). Checks can be mailed to the MIRA Office or will be collected at local brokerages until July 26th.
Please join us in giving kids in need the supplies to succeed! With your help, these kids will kick off their school year with a positive start.
